Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO)’s Annual General Assembly (AGA) in Thunder Bay

‍ ‍

The Métis Experience in Residential Schools Research Project (MERSRP) team will be attending the Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO)’s Annual General Assembly (AGA) in Thunder Bay, August 13 – Sunday, August 16, 2026. MNO Citizens are invited to visit the Rights, Research and Policy branch booth at the AGA to learn more about the project and ways to get involved. Project team members will also be available to collect information from individuals and arrange future interviews.

‍ ‍

Interviews will take place over the coming months with individuals who have lived or intergenerational knowledge of Métis experiences in Residential, Day, or Industrial Schools across Canada. As well, we welcome anyone who may have knowledge of Métis experiences at any types of institutions of assimilation and are willing to share what they know and archival material they may have.
